So last Friday, was our last day in Colorado. The packers loaded one full semi with all our belongings,except for what we were bringing to Shawn and these will be taken to a warehouse where they will be unloaded, and reloaded in crates to be sent to a tempered room for 3 to 5 years... It feels like cryogenics....like our belongings will be frozen in time t'il we come to fetch them again...What a bizarre feeling...
It was a long and full day.. At around 7:15 that evening, we watched as the semi pulled out of our driveway and drove off into the night... As big as our adventure is and will be, there is a feeling of emptiness and helplessness when almost everything you own is leaving without you and you're left standing in the shell which once was your home... This home which brought you years of happiness, laughter, trials and tribulations...
I had held it pretty much together all week, a tear here and there. But as our friends came one by one to say good-bye, it became harder and harder to keep my composure. As Harry and I stood there with only memories, I lost it... Thank goodness for Harry, my rock...It was also very hard for him, but in the end we have each other and we are off together on our big adventure...
That evening we got into the Penske truck that we had leased, our car hooked to the back, and commenced our drive to Arizona...our cat Bianca in the car and our dog Mitsou with us in the truck.
It wasn't very long before I really lost it, and cried all the way to Colorado Springs...( and I thought I heard Harry have a few sniffs too).. For those of you who don't know, it's about 1 1/2 hr away.. (Big Baby eh!!!)
We arrived in AZ Saturday evening,slept one night in a hotel on the way), to arrive at our Shawn and Sarah's new home... ( it's wonderful by the way, we are so proud of them..) and spent 2 days in there company.
We left Mitsou and Bianca in their care.. They will be very happy there, with Sarah and Shawn's 4 other pets!!! They will have 3 dogs and 3 cats... a regular little zoo : )
Well here it is, we are at the airport, waiting to our flight to San Francisco, then to take our flight to Hongkong. And it still has not hit me..Can you believe this???
I feel like I am going to, uhhh, I don't know, Tucson??? Bi-Zarre....
Anyway, I will keep you up-dated on our progress.. once we get to China...
Our word of the day is (actually 3) se, wu, liu :pronounced exactly as it is spelled : which means 456...
