International Licenses, and fingerprints....

Well today we had our fingerprints taken for our re-entry permits into the U.S of AAA. And we went to AAA to get our international drivers license...

Well AGAIN... I felt like a criminal. All I'm missing is the ink on my fingers... JUST KIDDING!!!!! HAHAHA>>>

At the immigration office they have an officer at the door asking you ( with their really cheery personality) " what is your business here? and you try to be really nice and tell them that you have an appointment to get your fingerprints taken...

Well, "fill out this paper!" he says. " and I'll tell you what to do next."
So you sit down with your little clipboard and be as obedient as you can, he is packing a gun : ( ... you fill out the single sheet of paper...

So, when you're done filling out the 1 sheet assignment, he tells you " go stand at the orange stop sign", which is just the beginning of a line. "And someone will tell you where to go..."

Honestly, it's just a big fat power trip from a big man with a small you know what...hee hee...

After all this charade, a wonderful little hispanic lady takes your fingerprints and you are on your way... 10 minutes later, you are done and in your car on your way to your next errand...

What a trip... But I did find out something interesting today. Being the foreign national that I am, this was not my first fingerprinting experience. We had to do this a few years ago when applying for our green card. So,I said to the little hispanic lady, " you would think they would use the ones already in the system.) And she informed me that if your are a good girl or boy, they delete your fingerprints after one and a half years!!! So!! I guess I am a good good GOOD girl : ))))))))))))))

Finally, we went to "AAA" for our international drivers license. Not much to say about that, except that it cost $15 each and it looks like a little catalog, with your passport photo in it. And on each page it tells you in different languages what kind of vehicle you can drive...

So, stay tuned for our future update on the red tape for China.

Your word of the day (actually 3) is, Hong se, baise se, lanse se. Meaning Red white and Blue.

That was for all you Americanos... : )

Tata for now.. Pauline ; )))
