Well, let me tell you. When I was finished writing my last blog, I shook my head, shrugged my shoulders and with a somewhat confident step, headed for the Liberges kitchen where poor old chickie ( for lack of a better name, you really shouldn't name your supper ), was silently awaiting, head and all...
I fetched him from the fridge, layed him on my cutting board and tried REALLY hard not to make eye contact... I counted to 3, yi, er, san, : ) and rang his neck!!! TA DAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! I did it!!! It gently disengaged from its body, into my hand.. keep in mind that it was fully cooked, so it was not so hard... So I placed the head and neck in the garbage and proceeded to take the skin off the carcass.. Almost through with the deed, AGAIN, another surprise!!! In the cavity, was the feet! Fully Cooooooked!!! Then I remembered that this is a delicacy for the Chinese, they have them as appetizers like we have chicken wings...I've seen it many times in restaurants around here. Well these feet followed suit to the head and neck...IN THE GARBAGE....
All said and done, I made soup with this little chickie, in my rice cooker ( my new friend, I LOVE it ), and it was delicious! That chicken tasted like real honest to goodness chicken. Not engulfed with anti-biotics or coloring or whatever they do to the chickens these days...
And, you can imagine, Harry had a little smirk on his face, he did indeed choose and buy the chicken... Dirty little Harry!!!!! Gotta Love him...I never learn, he is right, sometimes!! heeheehee..... : ))))))))))))
